Reworked web site

I did some work on the site to improve its look and feel. Thank you very much to Andy Ewing for making the masthead/banner; that banner makes such a difference to the look and feel of the site. The same facilities are still available as the changes I've made are to the "theme" or the front end; changes to the theme while retaining the underlying functionalities is easy to do with the Drupal content management system (which is what powers this web site) -- you can choose from dozens (or maybe hundreds) of themes developed by many designers and programmers. The one I chose (for now) is "ability" from http://art4linux.org. Many more interesting themes there. Let me know what you like and don't like about this theme; we can make changes to it (the code's open source and changeable by its users).
