Theatre

Chambers Crescent Theatre -- Shop 1, Malak Shopping Centre -- is a 300 square metre multi-purpose space that is available for social functions, band rehearsals, performances, dances, exhibitions, meetings, etc. The photo on the left shows it being used for a Blue Light Dance Party in September 2007.

Darwin Community Arts commenced management of the Theatre in July
2007, on behalf of Henry Yap, owner of Malak Shopping Centre, who
agreed to make it available for community use while it was not leased. In September 2008, the Northern Territory Government approved a grant for a three-year lease (2008-2011) for the Theatre, securing it as a multipurpose space for community use, especially for community cultural development activities.

Chambers Crescent Theatre is available for hire at $16.50 an hour
(GST included). Rates are negotiable, especially for community-based, non-profit organisations.
